The AC Spark Plug Division was established by Albert Champion.
|
| 1910 |
C.F. Kettering invented electric starting equipment for automobiles, and Dayton Engineering Laboratories Company (DELCO) began producing these parts.

| 1916 |
United Motors Corp. (UMC) was formed by Alfred P. Sloan Jr. That same year, UMC formed United Motors Service, Inc. (UMS) to distribute and service parts made by UMC. UMS was the forerunner for General Motors® parts business.

| 1926 |
Remy Electric merged with Dayton Engineering Laboratories Company (DELCO) to form Delco Remy Corp.

| 1971 |
UMS changed its name to United Delco Division.
|
| 1974 |
United Delco and AC Spark Plug's sales and marketing organisations merged, resulting in the AC-Delco Division.
|
| 1986 |
Service Parts Operations (SPO) was created, and ACDelco represented it in the aftermarket.
|
| 1995 |
The ACDelco logo changed its appearance to reflect a continuing commitment to expanding its aftermarket presence with most makes / most models product coverage.
